Wonderful Wednesday - the Thursday Edition! (Vol. 1)

My good bloggy friend over at Little Monsters and Mommies posted a challenge this week to put a little more good in the world.  And you all know I'm a big fan of that.  Granted I'm a day late...but I promise I'm not a dollar short!

Wonderful Wednesday Series

We NEED more positive in this world. It does not have to be elaborate, though that is always welcome, and can be a simple picture or a short few sentences of something, someone, anything, that you think is wonderful. If you feel inclined to do the same, be sure to leave a link to your Wonderful Wednesday in the comment section so others may enjoy it as well!

So here goes, Wonderful Wednesday (Thursday) Vol. 1

I was re-reading this post the other day and have been focusing on putting on my "perspectacles" lately.  And then today I came across this article on huff post and my perspectacles were attached directly to my heart this morning while I cried silently at my desk.  I cried because I feel so blessed, I cried because the world lost another brave and beautiful person much too soon, and I cried because sometimes I forget just how lucky I am - and that is its own kind of tragedy.

Nothing out of the ordinary has happened lately, but that's just it - the ordinary can be oh so wonderful too!

So in no particular order here's some wonderful as of late:

Learning to Jam with my mother in law.  And the living breathing reminder that grace has the capacity to heal all.

A growing babe.  And access to fantastic healthcare and doctors who work hard to keep us safe and give us the best information they can.

And fake baby bumps

A chance to spend time with my parents and enjoy some sunshine before they went abroad for a few months.

The visit may also have included a quick trip to the ALL christmas store!

The international sand castle competition was pretty sweet to say the least

Celebrating love and a chance to shake our groove thing at the last wedding of the season.

Patient fur babies, who wiggle with joy and lick all the tears away.

Anniversaries - our 2nd anniversary of our first wedding ;)  Celebrated with smores and a harry and david box from my parents.

A perfect homemade pear crostata (even I was impressed with myself for coming up with this one!)

And a holiday season that is rapidly approaching (its less than 18 now!)

And Rainbows that greet you on your drive to work!

Gratitude turns everything into enough.  In fact putting on your perspectacles makes everything more than enough!

Life is wonderful! Thanks for adding to my wonderful-ness my friends!

XOXO
Sarah

-popcorn and cheese
-sunshine that is gorgeous but not too hot
-nextdoor neighbor baby puppies!

My snuggle furbaby!

Popcorn, cheese, and artificial sweetner - only the best for me.

Baseball goobs

I could get used to baseball in a private suite.

Baseball bingo!

Gorgeous skyline

A much needed day off and now I'm back and feeling a little bit more like myself each day. And there was a chill in the air today...fall? Is that you? I'm ready for ya!

What I liked about Today…the Yesterday Version

Yesterday I had a little breakdown.  My workdays have been out of control lately.  It’s to be expected around this time of year.  My job is very flexible 6 months out of the year and then 6 months out of the year it’s incredibly intense and all consuming.  Which has its benefits…and its downfalls.

I woke up grumpy yesterday.

And I hate that.  When it feels like the destiny for my day is already set.  So I grumped around until SP couldn’t take it anymore and made me talk to her and cry about how I have no life and I don’t do anything and  nothing is turning out the way I though it would and and and (everything is very dramatic once you start to spiral into grumpville…have you ever noticed that?  how its all ALWAYS and NOTHING and EVERYTHING and ALL THE TIME)

And then I felt better.

Isn’t it crazy how just letting it all out and aired somehow in and of itself makes it better.  SP did tell me that I need to stop bringing my work home every night (she and I both know that some nights I have to but every  night and every day is really excessive)

So yesterday I didn’t bring my work home.

SP has been helping me so I don't go totally CRAZY

And I loved on my SP and my puppy.  Because the furry puppy she is always innocent and happy and just wants to love.  And my SP…she’s just the best thing there is.  A smile and a hug and a reassurance that everything will be ok.  And it is.  I’m so lucky.

And then she took me to Chipotle and the drive-in.

Wednesday is not a popular drive-in night...
And that was the best remedy for a grumpy day ever!

What I liked about today

What I liked about today:
1)   My outfit.  Nothing crazy fashinosta. But I liked it.  Trouser Jeans are the solution to all work related outfit problems.  Of this I’m sure.  Amen
2)   Going to a staff development class and realizing that my 26 (almost 27) years have given me quite a myriad of experiences.  Sometimes many more experiences than others who are much much older than me.  Older isn’t always wiser.
3)   Lunch with a best friend who always makes me laugh.  Who always makes me feel known and loved.
4)   Talking to my parents on the phone.  And the awkward way they talk over each.  And the way my mom always talks loud, louder, loudest ;)
5)   The smell and the sound of the rain
6)   Hanging out with my puppy in my sweat pants

She's really not as into me as I am into her...
This bodes well for the weekend my friends, it bodes very well...
